Holy Kissing

Derek Thomas has a fun but important post over at Reformation21 on how to implement "the holy kiss" in our day. You GFC'ers will see that I am not out in left field with all this "greeting one another" stuff!

"The “holy kiss” was meant to signal more than affection. It demonstrated a bond of the most intimate nature. It said, “we belong to each other as God’s family.” It is a fundamental need that will take effort on the part of Christians to foster and grow. It ought to be encouraged. It accounts for the feebleness of much of the modern church."

  1. "The entry for Britain is hilarious, explaining that “the British as a rule don’t kiss outside of the family” adding “that a handshake is thought to be sufficient.” And it adds, “When the British ask how you are, they don’t expect you to tell them!”"

    Blimey - we're not quite as shallow as all that! Are we...?

  2. Give me a break, Turncoat!

    You don't remember seizing up, stiff as a board when I hugged you goodbye?

    British = shallow!

  3. So that's how you spell 'blimey'... Now all I need to do is figure out what it actually means...
