Pastor Bozo (#2)

I had forgotten about this guy until Ryan reminded me of him today. What a shame. Why do so many of these things happen in Ontario?

'Religious bullying' by Evangelicals at US Air Force Academy

BBC NEWS | Americas | 'Religious bullying' at US academy
If the quotes were made by someone calling themselves "evangelical," either he is a liar or incredibly self-decieved. Notice how these lines get blurred in the media... if persecution does fall upon Christians in North America, much of it will find its root in this kind of misinformation.

Williams Syndrome and Our Son

My son was born with a very rare genetic condition called Williams Syndrome. Not many people know much about WS, in fact, we had never even heard of it before his diagnosis! This link will take you to an information page on the disorder. We are so thankful that God has given us our little boy. He is a true delight to us and doing great!

Too Many Conferences...

Is it just me, or are there too many great conferences in the year. I can think of SEVEN off the top of my head that, if I had the time, I would never miss: Bunyan Conference, Bethlehem Conference for Pastors, Sovereign Grace Fellowship Pastor's Conference, Canadian Carey Family Conference, Jonathan Edwards Centre for Reformed Spirituality Conference, Toronto Baptist Seminary Convocation, Sovereign Grace Fellowship General Assembly. All of these have great preaching, great fellowship, challenging content, good food - I mean, they are ALL great! But if I went to every one of these conferences every year, my church would need a new pastor (because I would never be here!). I wonder if there would not be a way to combine some of these things, or decide to hold some of them every two years (like the International Baptist Conference) or even every three years! The worst of it is, I always feel like my absence from any of these events communicates disapproval or something like it. But I have learned I can receive almost equal blessing from listening to sermons and seminars on CD - almost as much. We are blessed beyond belief in North America! Maybe some of these conferences should move themselves to the African continent - for free. Or India, or Brazil or Taiwan... you get the idea.

Evangelicalism... CBC style!

CBC News Indepth: Evangelism
Here is an interesting report by the CBC on evangelicals in Canada as a political force. This Tristan Emmanuel fellow is growing in popularity... I wish I knew more about him. He doesn't seem afraid to use self-promotion tactics... just look at his website! :-)
Bottom line: culture will never change for the good via political activism. Political powers may quell certain wrong behaviours for a time, but real lasting change only occurs as the Lord Jesus transforms individual hearts one at a time. We need God to save people in Canada! If He will use us to do that, we can expect a much different country 10 years from now.
