Romans 8:31-39

Therefore, what shall we say to these things?

No enemy too strong! (God gave His Son for us – ultimate sacrifice!)
If God (whom indeed did not spare his own son, but delivered him up on behalf of us all!) if this God is for us, then who is against us?!
How will he not freely give all things to us also with him?

No sin too awful! (God’s Son justifies us – ultimate atonement!)
Who shall “call in” the “called out” of God!? God is the one justifying, who is the one condemning?! Christ Jesus is the one having died, better, the one having been raised – who is in the realm of “the right” of God, who also is interceding on behalf of us.

No persecution too fierce! (God’s Son loves us – ultimate commitment!)
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
Affliction?
Or a pressing difficulty?
Or persecution?
Or hunger?
Or a lack of clothing?
Or danger?
Or a dagger?
Just as it is written that:
“We are being put to death for your sake all the day.
We were imputed (reckoned) as sheep of slaughter.”
But, we are being more than conquerors in all these things through the one having loved us! For I have been convinced that:
neither death nor life,
neither angels nor rulers,
neither present things nor things about to be,
neither powers,
neither height nor depth nor any other created thing
will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord!

BreakPoint | A Really Big Deal

Colson on Comparative DNA Testing
This is an interesting little piece, but what really caught my eye was this statement near the end: "the difference a single gene can make."

I can testify to that!

One inverted gene on my son's 14th chromosome has permanently altered who he would otherwise be. 20 million gene distinctions between man and chimpanzee may not sound like much when you consider the far greater number of genetic similarities... but all it takes is one tiny gene on one microscopic chromosome* to make a world of difference.

We are so dependent on the Creator!

For more on Williams' Syndrome, go here.

*Williams syndrome is the result of a deletion of the 7q11.23 region of chromosome #7 containing the elastin gene and is believed to be a contiguous gene syndrome.

The Twin Towers of Faith!

The Twins Speak!
For regular readers of this blog, you will recognize the names Twin#1 and Twin#2 (not to be confused with B1 and B2 of "Banana's in Pajamas" fame).
The boys have launched into the blogosphere with a site providing a wealth of good quotes and information. Knowing the "T's" personally, I am excited to see how the Lord uses them and their new blog!
Take a quick peak!!

Celebrating a Canadian Thanksgiving

Celebrating a Canadian Thanksgiving
Here is a concise article that explains both the background and dating of Canada's Thanksgiving Day. Imagine passing a law worded like this in 2005! How the mighty have fallen!

On January 31, 1957 Parliament issued a proclamation to fix permanently the second Monday in October as "a day of general Thanksgiving to Almighty God for the bountiful harvest with which Canada has been blessed."
