From NHL to NASCAR

Pilgrim in Progress: From NHL to NASCAR:
My pal Jason writes about sporting life in North Carolina. It is enough to make us all enjoy watching the Leafs lose again tonight... If I was in Jason's boots, I'd even watch the (spit) Habs with JLF81!

  2. How am I going to get my extra-long stick on a plane! You bring the sticks, and I will bring my booming slap shot, hard elbows and propensity for small stick infractions!!

  3. Our friend Jason lives in the wrong town for hockey in North Carolina. I live in the town of Apex, which is a suburb of Raleigh, in North Carolina. Here, most of the Carolina Hurricanes' games (home and away) are broadcast on the FSN television station. I have been to several games at the RBC Center in Raleigh (the naming rights, by the way, were purchased by the Royal Bank of Canada) this year, and I can truly say that hockey fever is alive and well in North Carolina.

As an ex-patriate Canadian and long-time, long-suffering Maple Leaf fan, I had always dreamed of living in a town where the hometeam would win the Stanley Cup. I had always hoped that this would be Toronto, Ontario, but it may very well up end up being Raleigh, North Carolina this year! Go 'Canes!!

I am trying to be happy for you... but just remember what it is like to cheer for the blue and white and you can see why this is a near impossible task!
If we don't make the post-season, I will root for those Canes as a token of my appreciation for your posting!
