Dear American Readers...

Canada Wins Stunning Upset Over USA in World Baseball Classic:

Not that I am a patriot or anything... but things like this so often get played down by the US MSM that I thought I would perform a true blogging service and point out this sad (pathetic, really) defeat.

"The victory is Canada's biggest over the United States in international baseball and perhaps the national team's most significant win ever. Previous highlights included a 7-6, 11-inning win over the Americans at the 1999 Pan Am Games and an 8-7 triumph over the Yanks at the 1988 Olympics. But this one came against a collection of all-stars featuring at least four probable Hall of Famers.

'I'm still smiling, it was an amazing game,' said first baseman Justin Morneau. 'We kind of got a little bit of a scare there at the end, it was as excited as I've ever been on the field.'

The Americans beat Mexico 2-0 in their opener Tuesday and can be eliminated before they take the field for their finale against South Africa on Friday. "

Sincerely Yours,

kerux

  1. I have been waiting all day for American responses to this but am sorely disappointed. Perhaps they are still swooning. Perhaps they are being polite considering we only get this chance very infrequently. Perhaps they are waiting for the hockey season to end when they can really gloat.

  2. Hey Paul, I'm sorry about the whole "silly determinist" comment. that was very childish of me and I quite ashamed of it. Really sorry and If you would like I can remove that post or put my apology on the comment section. if it helps I only needle folks I think that can handle it with a grain of salt. to your credit, you seem very mature and forgiving. so preach hard this sunday and as far as dialogue I am in other thoughts right now and have binged on calvin and arminus & process & openness for the past few years and now my theological belly is about to burst . . . so please forgive me for declining your gracious offer. wat to go canada baseball . . . i guess the whole bonds thing has the US team distracted?

  3. Ken had it right. We're just being polite, because you Upnorths so rarely get a chance to gloat. (I should have just asked you to read his comment again, that would have saved me some typing.)

    Gloat away!
