Well-intentioned Goofiness or a Scam? You Decide.

You've Been Left Behind

"The unsaved will be 'left behind' on earth to go through the "tribulation period" after the "Rapture"... Imagine how taken back they will be by the millions of missing Christians and devastation at the rapture. They will know it was true and that they have blown it. There will be a small window of time where they might be reached for the Kingdom of God. We have made it possible for you to send them a letter of love and a plea to receive Christ one last time. You can also send information based on scripture as to what will happen next. Each fulfilled prophecy will cause your letter and plea to be remembered and a decision to be made."

  2. Okay, Kenny is gone - disappeared in the middle of his comment. I am fine with that. I'll accept it. One problem, though. I'm still here! (And so are you if your reading this.) Pastor Paul Martin, I fear, has left us behind. The proof, you say? His laughter in the above comment trails off at the end.

  3. Sorry, I meant "you're." Not that it matters. We have bigger problems here. The Blog owner is gone, I tell you.

  4. It will be real embarrassing for them if the system sends out those emails accidentally. It must use some sort of "dead man switch", probably a timer which needs to be reset daily or possibly more frequently. If they forget to reset it (which presumably would mean they are raptured or otherwise detained) then it will commence its mission to email the lost. I doubt they considered that such a large burst of emails from their site will trigger ISP's identify them as spammers (which in effect they are).

Theology matters, and so does understanding the limits to technology.

  5. Easier than a dead man switch would just be to have a team of unbelievers running the system. The dead man switch does seem more likely, though....

  6. The secret rapture idea is novel and blatant heresy.

  7. It's a dead man switch:

"We have set up a system to send documents by the email, to the addresses you provide, 6 days after the "Rapture" of the Church. This occurs when 3 of our 5 team members scattered around the U.S fail to log in over a 3 day period. Another 3 days are given to fail safe any false triggering of the system."

At $40 for the first year the owners of this site may be the first raptured millionaires.

    Paul (not Martin)

  8. Interesting.....

The "About Us" says nothing about them, but simply tells us what they will do for us....for a cool $40/year.

Whether or not they are sincere, it is a scam both theologically and monetarily.
