They meant little to me when I was not yet alive in Christ, but much more afterward. This is a great list, however, some of those benedictions are really doxologies for example Jude 24-25 "Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord,
be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen." is a doxology praising Him who is able to keep you from stumbling.

While Ephesians 6:23-24 "Peace be to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with love incorruptible."is a benediction blessing the congregation as they head from gathered worship to live and serve their Lord and saviour.

I know, I am perhaps being overly precise, but there is a difference. However, both seem appropriate at the conclusion of worship. Usually I try to have the benedition be an actually blessing directed toward the people, and then have the whole congregation respond in a sung doxology to God. However, this makes me think I might try a spoken doxological response from the whole congregation sometime as well.Rileysownerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17212451614350376972noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11006198.post-85484630628870390342008-10-31T16:09:00.000-04:002008-10-31T16:09:00.000-04:00Paul,Thanks so much for posting this list. But this list will help me choose a benediction that fits the 'feel' of the service. Thanks.
Ian.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11006198.post-80079747658530763642008-10-31T13:07:00.000-04:002008-10-31T13:07:00.000-04:00Wow!
